Steve was in Construction Management before becoming a Realtor. Not just construction, Fire & Flood Restoration. That meant that he and his company went in after a family’s home had burned or flooded, to rebuild it. He had to know and understand not only the mechanical and physical construction of a home, but the emotions, stresses and expectations of the family that NEEDS their home and themselves back as they were. He was in what is called a “Grief Business”, coming into people’s lives as a result of some traumatic event, with all the confusion, panic and heightened emotions that come with that. This is where Steve was trained to hear what someone was trying to express, or what they wanted, even when they didn’t have the words. He learned to ask the right questions and more important, listen to what was being said and what was going UN-said.
It was this ‘always interesting’ interaction with people and their homes that led to a natural transition from remodeling homes for owners to the Buyer/Seller/Agent relationships of Real Estate.
Add to that the knowledge of design and construction that is priceless in looking at homes. There are subtle clues and differences between properties that need some cosmetic upgrades to become beautiful homes and those that have costly or hidden ‘fatal flaws’ as Steve calls them.
With 20 years of experience in Real Estate Sales & customer interaction, identifying needs as well as wants, Steve will ask the right questions, explain what needs to be explained, and guide Buyers to the decisions that will prove to be the right choice for them
